Alik Lysiuk

In 1997, at the age of 6, Alik Lysiuk was admitted to the Special Music School named after Prof. P. Stolyarsky, specializing in cello. He studied under Associate Professor Pavlo Kupin, who was himself a student of the world-renowned cellist Mstislav Rostropovich and who continues the traditions of his legendary cello artistry.

In 2007, Alik entered the Odessa National Music Academy named after A. Nezhdanova, studying in the class of Associate Professor Pavlo Kupin. From 2009 to 2011, he studied at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, where he attended classes with instructors Denis Severin, Conradin Brotbek, and Louise Hopkins.

Alik has participated in masterclasses with leading cellists from Europe and around the world, including Oleksandr Kaganovsky (Bern, Switzerland), Werner Schmidt (Bern, Switzerland), Franz Bartolomeo (Vienna, Austria), Conradin Brotbek (Stuttgart, Germany), Thomas Grossenbacher (Zurich, Switzerland), Patrick Demenga (Lucerne, Switzerland), Mischa Maisky (Brussels, Belgium), and others.

In 2000 and 2002, he took part in concert programs at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine under the patronage of the President of Ukraine, as part of the "Young Hope of Ukraine" initiative. He was also a scholarship recipient of the foundation of the same name, under the patronage of Lyudmila Kuchma (First Lady of Ukraine from 1994 to 2004).

As a soloist, Alik has performed with numerous chamber and symphony orchestras in Ukraine and abroad. He is a laureate of both international and national competitions.
